Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She has won several awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. Her career began as an actress on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. In her early years, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth year show. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in the one ear, but she did not allow this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. In college she studied theatre and later moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dream. Hunter had her Broadway debut after an unplanned conversation in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. She moved to Los Angeles and tried to land movie roles. In Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
