Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized by her highly commendable performances in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The movie Piano won her several awards including an Oscar. Her career began acting as an actress both on Broadway and Off Broadway. The actress has had a passion for acting since she started school. The first time she appeared in a show in the fifth grade was in Helen Keller. The actress was deaf in one ear after suffering from mumps but did not let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actor. After studying drama in college and moving into New York City with her plans with her sights set. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in an lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. Her first film role was in the role of an actress playing the lead character of Swing Shift. For the past 30 years, she has appeared on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
